Healthy Store-Bought Snacks for Kids
We take snacks very seriously in this house! There is an extra bag of snacks in my car, diaper bag, and trail bag. Now that Carson is older he insists on eating the same snacks we do. Therefore, the snacks that made the list are husband & toddler approved!
I feel that snacks can be broken down into two main categories. You have the fresh & perishable snacks that require refrigeration. Then there are the ‘can live in my diaper bag for weeks without going bad’ snacks. This blog is going to focus on the latter, mostly because they are also the most trail & adventure friendly!
Homemade anything is always better than it’s store-bought version, in my opinion. Unfortunately, for a multitude of reasons, homemade isn’t always an option! When it comes to store-bought food I always take a peak at the ingredient list. I look for familiar ingredients, preferably ‘real food’ ingredients. I try to avoid added sugars, preservatives, artificial flavors, artificial dyes, and any other chemical I can’t pronounce. I’m not naive to think that everyone has this kind of time on their hands. Which is where this list comes in handy, I did all the label research for you!
If you click on the product name it will take you to a website where you can learn more about the product and/or purchase it. I found all of these snacks from Target & Costco! I consider these snacks to be healthy by my family’s standards. I want to add that we eat plenty of unhealthy snacks, too - life is all about balance!
