Learning Areas for Mini Shredders: Part One
Hello hello, we’re a Colorado adventure family! This is our third winter teaching our toddlers to snowboard. I’m stoked to share our favorite learning areas with you! We feel the areas listed are perfect for beginner snowboarders/skiers, our kids are under 5.
Haymeadow Park - Beaver Creek, Colorado
Beaver Creek holds a special place in my heart. I’ve visited with my family, it was the first place Will + I rode together, where he proposed to me, and now our first family ski trip spot!
In my opinion, Beaver Creek is one of the most family friendly resorts in Colorado. The village is quaint and magical! The architecture is beautiful and there are cozy fire pits everywhere you turn. Ice skating in the village truly feels like you’re in a snow globe! They celebrate aprés every day with warm chocolate chip cookies served by chefs in white coats 🍪 Beaver Creek offers three learning areas in their Signature Parks Collection - today I’ll be highlighting Haymeadow Park!
Haymeadow Park is one of my favorite learning area for mini shredders. It’s accessible via a gondola vs lift, making it easier for little ones. The park is split into multiple areas with varying slopes. My kids were drawn to the magic carpet tunnel.
The park has a clean restroom that came in handy on multiple occasions. There’s a snowboard only hill steep enough to practice connecting turns! We didn’t have time to scoop out the Ice Cream Parlour located at the top of the Haymeadow Express Gondola, but it’s on our list for the next visit!🍦M and I rode the gondola back down to the village. Will cruised down one of the many easy green runs with C!
