Our Autumn Tradition
We don’t have many family traditions, we usually spice things up every year. When Liam was born we have made an effort to visit a farm every year in autumn. We do the typical farm things - feed animals, get lost in the corn maze, pick out ridiculously priced pumpkins, and eat delicious food!!
2017 - Cottonwood Farms in Lafayette, Colorado
The smallest and most quaint farm we’ve visited. The pumpkin patch offers wonderful mountain views and they sell fresh produce. There were also live animals that Liam adored.
2018 - Anderson Farms in Erie, Colorado
We absolutely loved Anderson Farms. I wanted to go back this year but the weekends were already booked. The petting zoo, corn maze, and pumpkin patch were huge. We enjoyed the tractor hayride to the pumpkin patch. There were tons of great spots for photo shoots, too! It was a large enough farm that it didn’t feel crowded.
2019 - Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield in Littleton, Colorado
This farm was a photographers dream come true. The better term would be venue! There were many beautiful and unique locations to explore. The largest of the farms we’ve been to. In my opinion they had the most variety and best quality food options as well.
2020 - Fritzler Farm Park in La Salle, Colorado
We visited Fritzler Farm this year! Honestly, it wasn’t my first choice but it was slim pickins with COVID. The food options were very limited and it was far too crowded. We loved the corn maze and pumpkin “house”. Another plus is their beer garden offered spiked seltzer! At the end of the day the farm was overpriced for the quality and lack of activities. We don’t have intentions of visiting in the future, however, we had a wonderful time with great friends!
